Anyone know how to get into game testing?

hey guys, i go to ITT Tech and im getting my bachelors in 3 yrs. for game design. but i want to start testing or anything to get my foot in the door. no gamestop is hiring, and i dont really have any knowledge on c++, how bugs and fixes work, but i know the fundamentals of what it takes to have a good game, character depth and quality, storylines, etc. anyone have a good place to start? i live in san bernardino, ca.
