Has anyone ever been on Accutane for acne?

I have acne and use Retin A micro...it keeps it at bay but doesn't completely rid it. My derm. recommends me use Accutane but I won't because of the sever side effects. I just wondering if anyone's taken accutane and whether or not it helps and their side effects.
