Should my horses have a stable or just live in the pasture?

I am buying an acreage to live on with my horses. Some people have told me to just let them live in the pasture/paddock, while other have said to put them in the sables at night or bad weather. They said leave them out all the time because thats how they naturally live, and it would cut out food and bedding costs. But I don't care about the cost. What do you think I should do?
