Vintage mendel suitcase won't open?

So, I just bought this cute vintage blue mendel vanity suitcase, the lady opened it in the store and such...but it wont open now! there was so key, and she opened it up without no key! How do I open it?! there are 2 keyholes on the side and there are flip up clasps that wont go up.
