Do you think its safe to post a lot of photographs on the Internet?

I read that earlier and right after I read it, I deleted my info on Facebook and then deactivated my account. I never realized how dangerous that is, but to see this, apparently, it's extremely dangerous. I know it takes a while for all the info. to go away, but at least getting rid of Facebook is a step in the right direction.
